Boundary Springs Trail Details
This hike might not pack a lot of elevation gain, but it compensates with interesting geological sites. The 2.5-mile hike starts at a trailhead off of Route 230, to the north of the park, five miles west of the junction with Route 138. You'll move through open pine woodlands and follow the Rogue River canyon until reaching Boundary Springs, wetlands that are the headwaters of the Rogue River. Round trip, the hike takes about three hours and is considered moderate. You can also hike to Boundary Springs via the Bald Crater Loop Trail in the southern part of the park.
