Jones Creek Trail Details

This trail leads through the heart of the badlands and connects to the Scenic Loop Drive at each end. It follows a creek bottom that may be dry or running depending on when you are visiting; wildflower blooms also are dependent on the availability of water and rainfall. Buttes flank the trail, which is fairly flat overall. About halfway along there is a junction with the Roundup Trail, which heads north to the Roundup Horse Camp. Another junction is with the Lower Talkington Trail, about 1.5 miles from the eastern side of Scenic Drive. A popular option is to make a longer hike connecting the Jones Creek Trail with Lower Talkington Trail and Lower Paddock Creek Trail.
