Smokemont Loop Details
Located on the southwest side of Smokemont Campground, this well-maintained forest trail is known for it's shady oaks and hickories, anemone and alpine strawberries, and leafy creek side scenes. The trail follows the Benton Mackay Trail and the Bradley Fork Trail from the Baptist church near the trailhead before climbing over the north side of Richland Mountain, and descending through an area once home to sawmills and logging companies. It features the longest log bridge in the park and decent views of Newfound Gap.
