Middle Prong Trail Details
This seldom-used trail leads through shady, quiet forests as it follows a small stream to its convergence with Panther Creek and the Appalachian Trail. The gravel trail, which was formally an old access road, is gently graded for almost the entire length of the trail, and the remains of an abandoned Cadillac appear just off the trail in a small, sunny clearing. The Middle Prong is a stunning, quiet stream that contains a number of small cascades and provides water for the millions of wildflowers that line the trail in the springtime.
