Hen Wallow Falls Trail Details
Climbing the northern side of Snake Den Mountain, this rough, rocky, root-tangled trail leads to one of the most spectacular and unusual falls in the park. Climbing through lush green forests of poplars, hemlocks, chestnuts, and the occasional tulip tree, the trail passes Rock Creek and a number of unofficial spur trails leading around the mountain before reaching the crumbling remains of an old homestead. The trail steepens and contains a number of switchbacks as it reaches the 90-foot falls, which fan out in a thin cascade that measures almost 20 feet across at the plunge pool.
