Chimney Tops Trail Details
The popular trail to the top of 4730-foot double-peaked Chimney Top is one of the most beautiful, and also challenging trails in the Sugarland area. The two peaks are visible along the trail as it crosses streams and travels through old coniferous forests studded with the occasional magnolia. Although sections of trail are fairly level, there are a few very steep ascents, and trail conditions vary. Beautiful, 360-degree views are possible from the bare rock summit, as are trails accessing the pinnacle, most of which require short, non-technical climbs.
