Weeks State Park Details

Part nature park and part historic site, this 446-acre property is a must-see attraction when visiting the town of Lancaster. This area was built in 1912 by John Wingate Weeks, who served as a congressman, senator, and later as the Secretary of War under Presidents Harding and Coolidge. It is located on top of Prospect Mountain and features a house, stone tower, and servants quarters. In addition to the estate buildings, the park also has numerous hiking trails that lead around the mountain and wooded forest. However, it is the panoramic views from the summit that make this journey worthwhile. You will be able to see the Presidential Range, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the upper Connecticut River Valley from the 2,037-foot peak.
