Wheeler Peak Campground Details

If you like high altitudes and being close to the action, Wheeler Peak Campground is the place for you. Its close proximity to some of the most popular mountain hikes in the park is a big reason for its popularity. Wheeler Peak Campground is open from June to October, weather permitting, and has water, vault toilets, picnic tables and campfire rings. Fires are only allowed inside the designated fire rings because of the high altitude and generally dry and windy nature of the summit. It is a great place to stay with easy access to spectacular views, great trails and ample opportunity to see some wildlife. Sites are $12 per night and are available on a first come first serve basis.
