Baker Lake Details
There is nothing quite like fishing as a mid-hike break, especially at this beautiful alpine lake. The fish that occupy the lake are brook and Lahontan cutthroat trout. The fish here tend to be pickier (and larger!) than in the streams. You are allowed to fish anywhere that you can access around the lake. To get here, drive to the end of Baker Creek Road and hike the Baker Lake trail until you reach the lake. Remember that all fishing requires a Nevada state fishing permit that can be purchased online and printed out. If you are fishing, you must have your permit on-hand. The park does not sell fishing permits.
