Sunrift Gorge Trail Details
It's only about a 75-foot walk to witness this incredible water-carved gorge. Baring Creek, a small stream, cut through a natural break in the rock to create this deep gorge, where turquoise glacier water now runs. You can view the gorge from Baring Creek Bridge, a concrete and stone bridge created using native stone to help it blend in with the natural surroundings. After taking in the view of the gorge, continue on for a short hike below the bridge. About a quarter-of-a-mile away you can see Baring Falls, or continue onto St. Mary Fall or Virginia Falls. Glacier is grizzly country. Carry bear spray, make noise and travel in groups. The trailhead is at Sunrift Gorge.
