Lake McDonald Lodge Details
Built in 1913 and designed in classic Swiss chalet style, Lake McDonald Lodge sits along the eastern shore of Lake McDonald, 10 miles inside Glacier National Park west entrance on the Going to the Sun Road. As the largest lake in the park, Lake McDonald provides a dramatic backdrop to this historic property, which operates seasonally from mid-May through late-September. The lodge offers 82 rustic yet comfortable guest rooms located in the three story main lodge, nearby cabins, Snyder Hall, and the Cobb House. In keeping with its historic character, rooms feature modest amenities and do not include air conditioning, elevators, or televisions except in the Cobb House suites. Recent renovations have introduced select king and queen beds and refreshed several rooms and cabins. All accommodations are non smoking, and only designated service animals are permitted. Main lodge rooms include private bathrooms and are available with one or two queen beds. Cabin rooms, arranged in duplex to six plex style buildings, also feature private bathrooms and shared walls without connecting doors. The Cobb House offers three suites with sitting areas and flat screen televisions, while Snyder Hall provides hostel style rooms with shared bathrooms. On site amenities include dining at Russells Fireside Dining Room, Jammer Joes Grill and Pizzeria, and Luckes Lounge, along with boat cruises, Red Bus tours, horseback rides, ranger programs, and easy access to lake and trail activities. Operating dates and services are subject to change.
