Highline Trail Details
This is one of the park's most popular hikes, taking people from the Highline Trailhead at Logan Pass across the Garden Wall above Going-to-the-Sun Road, to the historic Granite Park Chalet and then out at the Loop Trailhead, where you can take a free shuttle back to your car. This hike offers view of gigantic mountains, meadows of wildflowers, and occasional wildlife sightings of big horn sheep, mountain goats and deer. While you can do the hike in reverse from the Loop to Logan Pass, many don't because of the steep climb and the fact that the most beautiful views are behind you from that direction. While you'll likely be sharing this trail with lots of other people, remember, Glacier is grizzly country. Carry bear spray, make noise and travel in groups. Access is via The Loop or Highline Trailheads.
