Fish Lake Trail Details

This lovely hike takes you through a cedar forest, which changes to pines and firs as you climb. The steepest part of the hike is at the beginning. You'll gain most of the 1,000 feet of elevation during the first two miles before the trail tapers off and you can enjoy the lush woods around you. You'll cross two charming footbridges on your way to Fish Lake, a small body of water with lots of lily pads and maybe some waterfowl. Remember, Glacier is grizzly country. Carry bear spray, make noise and travel in groups. Access is via the Sperry Trailhead, located across from Lake McDonald Lodge.
