Fish Creek Campground Details
Fish Creek Campground is one of two campgrounds in Glacier (the others is St. Mary) that takes advance reservations. Camp sites fill up fast in Glacier, so if you want to guarantee yourself a camping spot, secure one ahead of time at [recreation.gov](http://www.recreation.gov/). Unreserved spots are first-come, first-served. Fish Creek is the park's second largest campground, with 176 spots. Sites cost $23 a night. Fish Creek Campground is located just a few miles from Apgar Village on the west side of the park. While the entire campground is surrounded by trees, some sites offer great views of Lake McDonald. There is potable water in the campground along with flush toilets and sinks with running waters. Registered campers can use the showers in Loop A. Sites have picnic tables and there is also a separate picnic area. Park rangers host nightly programs in the campground amphitheater. The campground is centrally located for access to day hikes and Camas Road, where Fish Creek is located, for wildlife viewing in the mornings and evenings. The campground is open from the beginning of June to the beginning of September. Glacier is bear country, and black bears and grizzlies can frequent the campground. Food must be properly stored at all times. Two sites at Fish Creek are handicap-accessible.
