Higgins Mountain Details
Standing only as tall as 259 feet, this rocky outcropping may seem parse to some, but the mountain is the centerpiece of Higgins Mountain Preserve. With one of the highest elevations on the scenic and popular Georgetown Island, the rocky ledges on top make for an excellent coastal vantage point. Moderate inclines make up a small portion of the otherwise easy half-mile looping trail that shows off the forests, open blueberry bushes, and rare broom crowberry, an uncommon plant of the heath family.
