Curit Details

Right on the shores of Chebeague Island, the 8.2 acres of Curit are preserved for visitors to enjoy tree-framed water views and to observe the coastal shoreline wildlife in action. Originally a homestead, the property eventually changed hands enough times to come under the control of the city and turn into a preserve. The rocky shoreline with sandy beaches makes this a popularly visited spot for hiking and exploring. Raptors, in particular, are in abundance here nesting above the treeline and watching out over the Casco Bay.
