Blackwoods Scenic Byway Details

Named after a famous colonel, Blackwoods Scenic Byway is a short 12 mile stretch of quiet two-lane highway that brings visitors back to the slower days of rural life. Beginning and ending with two historical small towns, the drive is the perfect chance to encounter wildlife that make their home in the surrounding woods, or hike or kayak along the multiple accesses. Be sure to make time for a stop or two too depending on the time of year. Interestingly, Cherryfield, one of the two surrounding towns, is ironically known as the "Wild Blueberry Capital of the World."
