Wassataquoik Stream Trail Details
Hikers should use extreme caution and judgement when deciding to hike this trail, as a ford is required and it can be very dangerous during the spring high waters or after a heavy summer rain. The trail starts at the junction off of the Russell Pond Trail, 3.3 miles north of Roaring Brook Campground. Bear right and follow an old tote road which parallels the south branch of the Wassataquoik. At 2.3 miles bear right, away from the south branch and towards the main stem of the Wassataquoik Stream. It is approximately 30 yards wide and should be forded here. On the other side of the stream turn left on the old Wassataquoik Tote Road and continue across Turner Brook, through several old fields to the trail end at the junction with Russell Pond Trail.
