Wassataquoik Lake Trail Details
One of the longest trails in the park, it is an important connector between western and central areas of the park. The trail originates at the Russell Pond Campground, and follows the Pogy Notch Trail for .1 miles before the junction with the Wassataquoik Lake Trail. The trail travels around the Six Ponds, with various inlets, outlets, and bogs in the area. Crossing Turner Brooks, the trail skirts the shore of Wassataquoik Lake, with side trails at mile 3.1 leading to views of South Pogy Mountain, or, at mile 3.2 to the base of the Greene Falls. Continuing, the trail passes Little Wassataquoik Lake and descends and follows an old tote road until mile 6.3, where it becomes a woods trail. This area is sometimes muddy and obscured by annual growth and raspberry bushes. Use care to follow the trail, especially as it grosses over several small brooks before climbing out of the valley at mile 8.2. Continue southwest on the trail, past Center Pond, over Little Nesowadnehunk Stream, before the trail terminates at the Park Tote Road at Nesowadnehunk Field.
