Frazer Point Picnic Area Details
Frazer Point Picnic Area, located in the Schoodic Peninsula section of Acadia National Park, offers a scenic and well-equipped spot for visitors to enjoy the coastal beauty of Maine. Accessible via a short spur road, the area features a loop parking lot accommodating about two dozen vehicles. The picnic area is divided into several sections, with most tables set in a grassy field overlooking Mosquito Harbor and the Mount Desert Narrows. Additional shaded tables and grills are available in wooded areas, though mosquitoes can be prevalent in late summer. A modern restroom facility is conveniently located near the south-end parking lot. The area also includes a public dock, where visitors can fish or arrive by boat, though an Acadia National Park entrance pass is required. The rocky shoreline provides an excellent opportunity for tide pooling at low tide, but caution is necessary as the seaweed-covered rocks can be dangerously slippery. While tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis, groups of 30 or more must obtain a permit for gatherings. With its scenic views, ample picnic facilities, and access to the rugged Maine coastline, Frazer Point is a prime location for a relaxing outdoor experience in Acadia.
