Wet Prong Trail Details

The Wet Prong Trail leads from the First Creek Trailhead 4.6 miles to the Collie Ridge Trail. It is very popular with horseback riders, which can lead to muddy patches in the trail. The trail follows the Wet Prong of Buffalo Creek, starting out as double track and narrowing to singletrack. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as deer and turkeys. After 1.4 miles, there is a turnoff for the Blair Springs Hollow Trail to the left. Turn here for the Ferguson Campsite, just 0.7 miles from this intersection. If you stay on the Wet Prong Trail to its terminus on the Collie Ridge Trail, you can access the Collide Ridge Campsite just 0.6 miles further. Remember, horses have the right of way and must stay on trails at all times. Hikers should exercise caution and communicate with riders when passing horses in narrow areas.
