Little Grand Canyon Trail Details
If you are looking for a challenging hike with picture-postcard views and beautiful scenery, then look no further than this trail through the Shawnee National Forest. For 3 miles, you will weave through canyon crevices up steep, moss-covered creek beds as you wind your way up towards the rocky bluffs. The highlight of the trail is the waterfalls, which you will need to climb around before making your way back. The downhill part of the loop can be very slippery and potential dangers, which is arguably the most difficult part of the hike. It is important to take your time and to wear appropriate shoes to help you navigate the cliffs. Hiking during the dryer months is also possible, as there are fewer slippery surfaces to climb.
