It offers a variety of activities such as bicycling, hiking, swimming, boating, camping, bird watching and picnicking. It is the only remaining beach ridge shoreline left in the state that has dunes---there are 650 species of plants located there---, marshes, forest of oak, swales and a wide variety of animal life as well as vegetation. There is an area at the southern end of the park designated as a nature preserve.
