Sundance Mountain Details
Rarely is getting to the top of a mountain this simple: walk on rocks - trying to stay off fragile tundra plants- from the Trail Ridge Road for half a mile to the top of Sundance Mountain -- a short but moderately strenuous hike. Interestingly, the peak was once lowlands at the base of an ancient mountain chain, but was thrust upward to more than 12,000 feet above sea level when the Rockies were formed. Views from Sundance peak include Longs Peak, the Mummy Range, and the Never Summer Range.
