The Glacier Basin Campground is open late May through mid-September and has 150 camping sites. Trees infested with pine-bark beetles have been removed from some parts of the campground, leaving little shade but opening up great views. The campground has an outdoor amphitheater where summer evening programs are given by park rangers, and offers access to the Sprague Lake, Glacier Gorge, Storm Pass, and Bierstadt Lake trailheads. This campground is especially popular since it provides easy access to the park's shuttle bus hub.
