Yosemite Falls (V3) Details

These majestic falls begin where the rushing Yosemite Creek seems to virtually jump off the edge of Eagle Creek Meadow. At 2,425 feet, it claims the title of being the highest waterfall on the North American continent. Flowing at an average rate of 300 cubic feet per second during its peak in late spring, the falls are lined by steep granite cliffs and stately evergreens. It consists of three sections: the Upper Fall, the Middle Cascade, and the Lower Fall. While the Lower and Upper Falls are accessible by the nearby Lower Yosemite Falls Trail and steep trails to the north, the rocky Middle Cascades are too treacherous to be considered approachable. The waterfalls flow approximately between November through July, with peak in May. Roadside marker: V3
