Siesta Lake (T8) Details
At this point, there is an interpretive sign that explains how Siesta Lake was formed. The lake was created as a result of the low ridge of rocky debris across the road that piled up as a terminal moraine after a glacier retreated. The moraine created a dam, and the small side stream eventually created the lake. The road was diverted at this point to avoid spoiling the charm of this lovely lake with its clear waters reflecting the surrounding evergreens. Take some time to sit and relax here where you can bond with nature and enjoy its perfect simplicity. Roadside marker: T8
