Elephant Rock View (B1) Details
The old Coulterville Road was the first stagecoach road to reach the floor of Yosemite Valley. Also across the canyon is Turtleback Dome, a classic dome found in Yosemite that exhibits a process called "exfoliating granite." The Yosemite Conservancy operates a popular webcam from this point. Elephant Rock, which gets its name from its elephant-like shape, is located farther west along the rim of the canyon. Roadside marker: B1
