Departing from Bear Gulch Day Use Area, the hike features an elevation gain of 1,425 feet into the High Peaks and along the ridge through grassy meadows. If you hike this route in spring, you'll see gorgeous wildflowers in full bloom. The return trip along the Bench and Bear Gulch trails is pleasant due to the shade of sycamore, buckeye and oak trees.
