Queen Mountain Details

Queen Mountain, along Joshua Tree's northern border, is in one of park's most remote areas. Its highest point is 5,677 feet, which makes it one of the highest in the park. The mountain has no true trails, although there is one faint one leading up to the peak from the mountain's south side. Visitors should have good navigational skills and bring a compass. The top of the mountain offers panoramic views of the entire park, a maze of washes to explore and lots of rock formations. To get there from the north entrance, visitors should continue on Park Blvd, keeping right at the fork with Pinto Basin Road. After the Jumbo Rocks Campground, take the second right onto a dirt road. Continue north on this road for about two miles, keeping straight at the first fork and straight again at the intersection. Park in the small cul-de-sac at the end of the road.
