Gold Rose Well Details

Visitors wishing to see the remains of Gold Rose Well, in the north-central part of the park, can take Twentynine Palms Highway east to Gold Crown Road and then head south. Thought to have been built in the 1930s or 1940s, by the mid-1960s the area featured a 450-foot deep well with a pump and a 2,000-gallon storage tank. The privately owned property was managed by a caretaker, Walt Rose. Water was used domestically and was also transported to other area residents.
