West Side Road Details

This gravel road runs parallel to Badwater Road and connects to the paved road at either end, but once on West Side Road there's nowhere you move from one road to the other -- you have to drive it to the end. If you're just getting from one place to another, Badwater Road is your far better option unless you're just in the mood for some mild off-road adventure. The tradeoff for driving about 40 miles on the bumpy Westside Road is access to some of the canyons of the Panamint Range (such as Galena Canyon and Warm Springs Canyon, both located near the end of side roads off West Side Road).
