Indian Pass Trail Details
Backpackers can follow the Indian Pass trail to a natural spring inside Indian Pass Canyon. The proximity of this trail to Furnace Creek makes it one of the most popular backpacking routes in Death Valley. The hike includes some cross-country trekking, traversing a gravel wash, and four miles of hiking in the canyon with 3,000 feet of total elevation gain if you go all the way to the pass. The trailhead is 6.5 miles north of the Furnace Creek Visitor Center on Highway 190.
