Ibex Spring Ghost Town Details

The Ibex Spring ghost town centered on an old silver and copper mining operation dating to 1881. Located in the southeastern corner of Death Valley National Park, the town enjoyed a renaissance of sorts through the 1960s thanks to a nearby talc-mining operation, but has been abandoned ever since. Visitors who venture to this remote spot will find crumbling houses and mine structures, an old car, and a still-reliable spring fringed with palms. Ibex Spring is about a five-mile hike from the Ibex Dunes area, which can be reached via Harry Wade Road.
