Highway 178, also known as Jubilee Pass Road, runs west into the park from the town of Shoshone, Calif., and is one of several routes you can use to access the park from the direction of Las Vegas. Once inside the park boundaries the highway becomes known as Badwater Road when it turns north around the Ashford Mill ruins, passing Badwater Flats before intersecting with Highway 190 at Furnace Creek. NOTE: Due to historic flooding in November 2015, Badwater Road sustained heavy damage and is closed until further notice south of Badwater.
