Harry Wade Road Details
Harry Wade Road follows the Amargosa River into the southernmost end of Death Valley, connecting to Owl Hole Spring Road, Ibex Spring Road, and Saratoga Spring Road. Historians think this is the route followed by the only Lost '49er pioneers to exit Death Valley with their wagons intact. The river is normally dry, but flooding can occur when it is running. When dry, you can navigate this road in a high-clearance 2WD vehicle, but a 4WD is required when the river is flowing. Harry Wade Road begins at Badwater Road two miles south of the Ashford Mill Ruins.
