Golf Course Details
Possibly the most improbable sight in Death Valley is the 18-hole golf course at the Furnace Creek Resort. Not to be confused with the park's stuccoed "Devil's Golf Course," this par-70 course -- which claims the title as the world's lowest links, as well as one of the toughest to play -- has bright green fairways lined with palm trees, benefitting from an ample water supply from a spring emerging from the mountains just behind the Inn at Furnace Creek. There are even water hazards on nine of the holes. The course is open year-round, but due to the excessive heat no tee times are available after noon between May 11 and Oct. 1.
