Golden Canyon Interpretive Trail Details

This hike takes you up the aptly named Golden Canyon, with interpretive signs along the way explaining the canyon's geological history and how it was shaped and former both by the lake that once filled Death Valley and the flooding that has occurred over the centuries. You'll also see the Red Cathedral -- steep cliffs that get their color from iron oxidation -- along the way. The trailhead is located at the Golden Canyon parking area, which is two miles south of Highway 190 on Badwater Road.
