Emigrant Campground Details
Emigrant Campground is a small, first come, first served tent only campground located along CA 190 at approximately 2,100 feet in elevation, southwest of Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park. With just 10 sites and no camping fee, it offers a quiet and simple desert camping experience. As of late August 2025, the campground, water system, and restrooms are closed due to significant flood damage. Repairs to the five mile long water pipeline and related infrastructure are extensive, and there is currently no estimated reopening date. When open, the campground provides basic amenities only, with no hookups, no dump station, and no on site services. Operating status and conditions are subject to change.
