Cottonwood Canyon Details
Cottonwood Canyon is the recommended first leg of the Cottonwood/Marble Canyon Loop Trail, open to hikers and 4WD vehicles alike. It's the relatively rare Death Valley canyon that has a reliable water source, and in fact wet areas can be a bit challenging to hikers due to thick vegetation that includes willows and cottonwood trees. The small stream here is a magnet for wildlife, including bighorn sheep and wild horses.
