Aguereberry Point Details
This scenic viewpoint, located more than 6,000 feet up in the Panamint Range, has great views of Badwater Basin, Furnace Creek, nearby mountains and the more distant Mt. Charleston. The spot was named for Jean Pierre "Pete" Aguereberry, a Death Valley miner for more than 40 years whose camp and the Eureka gold mine are located nearby. You can reach this viewpoint (and the Aguereberry camp) by taking a gravel road off of Emigrant Canyon Road. You may need a high-clearance vehicle to drive all the way to the viewpoint.
