Reserve Trail Details
The Reserve Trail is a short, easy .3-mile one-way spur trail beginning from Reserve Street beyond park law-enforcement headquarters. The brief climb along this trail, to the intersection of the Dead Chief Trail, offers a shortcut to Gulpha Gorge Campground. Reserve Trail was originally built in 1926 as the beginning of the Dead Chief Trail. Its name is short for "reservation," the original name for the street bordering the south side of Hot Springs Mountain, as well as deriving from the park's designation as a national reservation in 1832.
