Sendero Esperanza Trail Details

The trailhead for the Sendero Esperanza Trail is found six miles from the Red Hills Visitor Center and 1.5 miles east of the intersection of Hohokam and Golden Gate roads. For the first mile of the trail, you'll follow the sandy path of an old mine road, and then climb 0.7 mile up a series of switchbacks to the top of a ridge, where you'll cross the Hugh Norris Trail. From the ridge, you'll descend 1.4 miles on the western side of the range to the Mam-A-Gah Picnic Area and the King Canyon Trail. Follow the King Canyon Trail for another 0.9 mile to Kinney Road, where you'll come out right across from the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.
