Just beyond the borders of Saguaro National Park's Tucson Mountain District is the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (2021 N. Kinney Rd., Tucson, AZ 85743). Throughout the 98-acre museum, which is mostly outdoors, you'll find not only information on local history but also two miles of walking paths through 21 acres that encompass various desert habitats; 230 different types of animals; 1,200 types of plants and 56,000 individual specimens; and an extensive regional mineral collection.
