Roaring Springs Details

Roaring Springs -- the source for most of the water used by Grand Canyon National Park visitors -- is an ambitious but do-able day hike destination along the North Kaibab Trail. You'll need to start early, however (prior to 7 a.m.) since the strenuous round-trip will take you 7 to 8 hours to complete. You'll descend more than 3,000 feet before you reach the noisy waterfall that gives the spring its name, which means you'll be climbing that much in the afternoon on the way back to the North Rim.
