Hermit Trail Details
One of the tougher trails on the South Rim, this poorly maintained trail descends steeply to the bottom of the Canyon where it meets Hermit Creek. Bighorn sheep populate the area, and there is an interesting array of flora along the trail. While this trail is an excellent way to access Santa Maria Spring and Dipping Springs, it's poor conditions makes for a strenuous descent and a very challenging ascent for even for experienced desert hikers. Limited access to water, and for experienced hikers.
