Hermit Road Details
The scenic and historic Hermit Road runs seven miles from Grand Canyon Village to Hermits Rest. The road is only open to park shuttles in spring, summer and fall; buses make 13 stops during their 75-minute round trip. Great views are your constant companion on Hermit Road, and from Hopi Point westward you'll be able to see the Colorado River, too. Other major stops include Maricopa Point, Powell Point, the Abyss, Monument Creek Vista, and Pima Point. The lightly traveled road is popular with bicyclists, and some visitors take the shuttle out to Hermits Rest and hike or bike the rim trail back to Grand Canyon Village.
