East Entrance Details
The East Entrance of Grand Canyon National Park is sort of the back door to the South Rim. Far less busy than the South Entrance, it's located at Desert View about 50 miles west of Highway 89 and Cameron, Ariz. The benefit of coming in this way is that you get to enjoy a scenic, 26-mile drive along the rim of the canyon before reaching Grand Canyon Village. As at the South Entrance, you pay your park admission fee at the entrance and also can pick up your copy of the park newspaper, The Guide.
