Cape Royal Trail Details

This is one of the Park's most popular, iconic trails, and it's extremely good accessibility makes it the perfectly short introduction to the Canyon. The paved path remains mostly level as it winds along the rim, offering a number of good views from different points. The primary destination, Angel's Window Perch, is a perilously positioned peninsula that hangs over the Canyon, and from this point visitors can see Vishnu Temple for the south, and Colorado River to the Southwest, with the San Francisco Peaks further south. There are a number of informational displays along the trail explaining the area's geographical history, flora, and fauna.
