Harlequin Lake Trail Details
The Harlequin Lake Trail, 30 miles from the town of Yakutat, provides access to Harlequin Lake. To start the walk, head east from Yakutat on Forest Highway No. 10 (Dangerous River Road) for 30 miles. At the end of the road, cross the Dangerous River Bridge to the trailhead. From here, hike in to the edge of the lake, a 0.75 mile trip. If you have time, enjoy the miles of gorgeous shoreline hiking around the lake in this nearly pristine landscape. The lake is fed by the Yakutat Glacier and contains floating ice from the glacier. This hike is not inside Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. It is within Tongass National Forest.
